Play is essential for the physical, emotional and social development of children. It fosters imagination and creativity and encourages confidence and concentration.
Play Therapy is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy whereby the child’s natural media of expression – Play, is used as a therapeutic method to allow the child to connect to his/her unconscious, and reach to the early implicit memories (these memories affect the way we relate to people, builds are taste towards smells, sounds etc.)
This connection will assist him/her in the process of coping with emotional stress or difficult behaviours and progressing towards overcoming them.
Play Therapy is structured to take place on the same day and time each week in order to give the children a secure base to explore their inner world in a safe, accepting, and permissive space. Within this psychotherapeutic space and with the support of the therapist, the child will better able to find the solution for his/her problem.
Play Therapy can help children with a wide range of needs and concerns. It is suitable for children from the age of 3.5 Years old till adulthood.
